The Barn, Saham Hills

Stayed at the Barn in Saham Hills with the wife, granddaughter and our 2 dogs. It's set in a lovely village. The cottage is ideal place to stay with your dog or dogs. The owners Karen and Stewart are absolutely lovely. They couldn't do enough for you. The cottage sleeps 4 in 2 double rooms. and has every things you need for your stay. For the pooches they have an amazing paddock for dog walks. And after your walks they provide a wash area for your dogs. Would i stay here again you betcha.

Lovely cottage, very friendly owners, great hot tub. Dog friendly. super comfy beds ,well equipped kitchen. Lots of leaflets of places to visit. Would highly recommend this cottage and others on site. Will definitely be back

The Barn is the best property we have stayed in by far we didn't want to leave! Every comfort was considered by the owner, who was very welcoming. The Barn was spacious, very clean and furnished with style. We had lovely areas for our dogs, who were made very welcome where some owners just tolerate dogs We will definitely be going back!

FABULOUS We loved every minute of our stay, the owners have thought of everything comfortable, clean, amazing building, friendly owners, excellent facilities for dog owners. Our 3 dogs loved it too. Good base for Norfolk Hot Tub fantastic. Couldnt fault it ! Super fantastic in every possible way. We will be back !

The Barn was spacious & peaceful, very relaxing. The beds were very comfy with good quality linen. The paddock area for the dogs to run free was great! Its an ideal place to get away from it all, but a car is definitely needed as the coast etc are at least an hour away as are most places of interest. Hosts were very helpful & obliging & made us feel very welcome during our stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Barn. The host was really welcoming and attentive. The Barn was stunning, well maintained and accurately described on the website. Its really well kitted out, with very comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen. The hot tub was great and the grounds were lovely, great place to stay with dogs.

PROS The barn is a beautiful old house, with tons of rustic charm and character and the central atrium entrance is particularly stunning. It is quite large so plenty of space and we liked that the bedrooms were at opposite ends of the building ensuring privacy from the in laws who visited and stayed with us for 4 of our 7 night stay. The beds were super king and the bedding was really soft and comfortable. The private secured little garden is great for the dogs and there were a further 2 really lovely areas where the dogs could play. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofa and TV area very comfortable. The owner was helpful when we needed a fan in one of the rooms and she was also helpful in recommending some pubs and places to visit. There is a utility area with a ton of tourist information flyers and maps, which I found useful when planning days out. CONS We found dog hair not ours all over the sofas and cobwebs in the ceilings on the wooden beams. Whilst we appreciate this is a old barn, this could have been easily rectified with a deeper clean between guests. The front door double height glass entrance had dozens of dead flies stuck to the glass . The front entrance was also tired with weeds and piles of leaves which again could have been swept up and tidied between guests. My husband also didn't appreciate being 'told off' by the owner for using the wrong hoover to clean up sand from the back seat of our car . The owner did in fact tell me that they weren't able to afford the rates of local cleaners so they have taken to cleaning the property themselves. The property is located in a quiet residential road but there is nothing else nearby other than residential properties. The nearest pub was several miles away, and there were no shops within walking distance. This means we needed to drive everywhere with quite considerable distances and times involved, i.e. a day trip to the north Norfolk coast was a 3 hour round trip! This was a big issue for us as we spent so much of our time driving but we do appreciate this was mostly our fault as we didn't sufficiently note the distances involved and we didn't quite appreciate how large Norfolk was so not a criticism of The Barn or Sykes.

Have stayed at many holiday cottages over the years but this one is the best ever. Well equipped very comfortable & great hosts.

The Barn is a superb conversion and the photosdescription do not do this holiday cottage justice, great character, a good size and comfort with a lovely shared paddock for the dogs along with cleaning facilities. Only negative point would be occasional traffic noise through the night.

Lovely property. Felt at home straight away. Perfect for a relaxing stay in the countryside and a good location for getting out to explore the rest of Norfolk. Nice small touches like games and chess board in the lounge, log fire, essentials for the kitchen, enclosed area for dog as well as more open garden areas and a big jacuzzi with candles etc. We had a great time.

Fantastic break away with the family, The Barn was perfect for our stay. Beds were super comfy and very clean. Lovely stay would recommend to family and friends.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday at The Barn and managed to see all the delights of North Norfolk including Sandringham a must visit which was delightful. As were Holt definitely worth a visit as well as Blakeney, Ely Cathedral and on the recommendation of Karen and Stewart The Cutter for lunch followed by a boat trip on the river. Holcombe Hall and the beach are high on the list with a trip to Cambridge and a punt on the river not to be missed. Our holiday was made all that more special by the the property itself which in our view was five star reaching this level with the way in which our hosts Karen and Stewart made us so welcome with their tips, recommendations and conversations. Thanks to them both and best wishes for the future.

The Barn was an awesome place for a relaxing stay. Karen and Stuart are the perfect hosts and the Barn and garden are idyllic. Its a perfect holiday with a dog even our very young slightly troublesome one. He is sad now we are home and he doesnt get to run round the paddock numerous times a day. We will all definitely be back soon

Perfect Holiday Home with excellent owners, Highly recommend as Karen & Stuart are great hosts. Love the grounds, ducks and how easy it was to move around south west Norfolk.

Beautiful barn, very comfortable. The barn was very spacious and easily accomodated 4 adults and 5 dogs. Great to have private, enclosed garden and then 3 other area for the dog. Hosts were lovely and informative

The barn is lovely, it is a home for home but with more! The house has everything you need for a great stay and the dog facilities are fantastic. We could have stayed longer than a week! Karen is warm and welcoming and we will definitely be going back!

Beautiful Barn conversion super place for your furbabys . The owners Karen & Duncan were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble .we will be booking again very soon .

Had a fantastic time at the barn would definitely recommend a few cleaning issues 1 being the kettle full of limescale and the frying pan being burnt on food left on , but okay apart from that .

This property had everything you could wish for especially for dog friendliness. Dog wash, towels, safe areas, water bowl, enclosed garden for late night wees without getting all togged up. Well equipped kitchen. To be honest faultless even without the dogs. Plenty of space as well compared with other cottages we have stayed in. Hot tub was lovely as well. Owners very helpful and on hand. Bonus ability to rent all 3 properties for groups.

Lovely place to stay, the hosts had thought of everything. We had three dogs with us and it is definitely dog friendly. The dog walking field was a huge bonus. We will definitely go back.

Lovely setting and beautiful barn conversion with all modcons but very dog friendly. We and the dog loved the paddock which was very secure and tranquil. Karen was the perfect host and was at hand to lend a flask or advise on walks etc. We hope to return.

Such lovely hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and as they live on site if there are any requirements they are dealt with straight away. The gardens are beautiful especially the paddock. Were definitely going to return to this cottage.

The barn was amazing so much space the hot tub was so relaxing after a day walking with the dogs . It was so nice to go to a place that was for 4 dogs and had good facilities so thank you to them and their kindness
