About The Malthouse

An attractive retreat in the Norfolk village of Dersingham, this holiday home has plenty to keep the whole family busy. With a hot tub and play equipment, the four-bedroom carrstone cottage sleeps eight guests and is perfectly placed for a group getaway. Situated 2.5 miles from Snettisham and 10 miles from King’s Lynn, it is 4.5 miles from the magnificent Norfolk coast, with its unspoiled, golden beaches. Head to Snettisham Beach to stroll along the sand or watch the wildlife. Heacham South Beach, 6 miles away, is family friendly and the perfect place to paddle or swim, while Hunstanton, 8 miles away, is known for its traditional seaside activities and water sports. Spend an afternoon at the Royal Sandringham Estate, just 1.5 miles away, with its stately home and parkland grounds to explore. From Hunstanton, pick up the Norfolk Coast Path and follow it alongside the saltmarshes and open sands. Return from days on the sand and walks through scenic nature reserves to let yourselves into the welcoming house at ground-floor level. Head through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its sumptuous furnishings and generous space. Light the wood burner in the lounge on chilly autumn and winter days, then select a plump seat and recline in front of the Smart TV. Amble through to the stylish kitchen, with its dove grey units and wooden work surfaces, to unpack the fresh Norfolk produce you have bought. Make fresh coffee in the machine to enjoy up at the breakfast bar and set dinner roasting in the range-style cooker. Open the French doors in here on fine summer days. Ask a friend or relative to set the table and open a bottle of wine. There is also a playroom area, where the youngest members of your party can have fun with the playhouse, dolls’ house, mini piano and other toys. Teenagers might like to retreat to the snug, where there is a second Smart TV, plus games consoles and games. Also downstairs are a handy shower room and a utility room. When it is time to enjoy a well-earned rest, make your way up to the first floor of the cottage, where your bedrooms and the rest of the bathrooms are situated. Here, you have three gorgeous king-sizes, including the master bedroom, with its luxurious en-suite bathroom, featuring an elegant roll-top bath. The children will enjoy the nautical-themed bunk bedroom, where there is an additional cot if required. A second family shower room, with a large walk-in shower, is also on this level. Savour the abundant Norfolk sunshine out in the enclosed, lawned garden. Supervise the children as they play on the swing or slide or in the playhouse. Prepare to grill supper on the BBQ or switch on the hot tub, then soak in its relaxing, hot bubbles. There is parking for one car on the driveway to the front of the cottage, with additional space on the road, subject to availability.
