About High House

High House is a grand three-storey Edwardian house sitting on the outskirts of Cromer in the Norfolk Coast AONB. This six-bedroom stunner sleeps 16 people and has five bathrooms to prevent morning queues. Perfect for big family gatherings or that weekend away with mates where nobody gets left behind.

The property sits in an enclosed garden with two large terraces where you can soak up the Norfolk sunshine. Just 3.8 miles from Cromer Beach and close to picturesque villages like Southrepps (0.9 miles) and Overstrand (3.5 miles). The games room with pool table, table tennis and football table will keep everyone entertained when you're not exploring the coast.

Accommodation includes a large country oak kitchen with electric range cooker and two large fridge freezers to keep all those drinks cool. The dining room seats all 16 guests comfortably, while the lounge has an open fire for cosy evenings. There's also a snug with a 65-inch Smart TV and full Sky package including Sports. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. The house is immaculate and felt very homely to be in. The grandchildren loved the games room and the hot tub. There are no negatives about this beautiful house and we hope to be back again next year.
We are a large chaotic family of varying ages from 1 to 61. We were celebrating a 21st Birthday and had a few extra visitors on one of the days for a BBQ. We had the absolute best time at this wonderful home. So much to do and every comfort was thought of. There was plenty of space and everything was in great condition. We did not leave for the whole weekend. Would definitely recommend and would happily return. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay.

We had a great family stay at this beautiful property. The photos don't do it justice! The downstairs is very traditional with beautiful wood panelling and staircase. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very modern and a great size. We loved the games room lots of time spent here! and hot tub. It is very well kitted out with everything you could need including plenty of chairs, 2 kettles and 2 toasters to help cater for everyone at breakfast time. The children loved the new swing in the garden too. Definitely considering returning with friends for another break! Great communication before arriving and whilst we were there. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Property was perfect for a family gathering of 11. Lots of space and well equipped. Kids and adults loved the hot tub and the kids in particular loved the games area. Nice addition was that they had left a couple of pumpkins for the kids to carve. Overall we had a great time. We did have a minor issue as the top floor seemed to have a problem with flies, especially in one of the rooms. We reported it and the owner did offer to reclean the affected area. Hopefully this will be resolved prior to next let. As a suggestion to improve safety we would also advise they put a mirror at the end of the drive as visibility to turn into road is not great.
The house is beautiful. Big enough to house the 9 of us that went. It was well equipped, however it did not have any pint glasses or big tumblers. The games room was a very big hit. The showers were amazing! But the water pressure in the taps are not so great. We did not use the hot tub much as the temperature was set at 33 and we were not aloud to adjust it. We feel this is too cold for October and should have been a bit higher. As the house has so much history, it would have been great to see some of the history either in the pictures on the walls around the house or a small book explaining the history. I know theres a small amount in the welcome pack, but that just left us wanting to know more! Overall really great stay. We would definitely stay again!
Fabulous house, really enjoyed our stay, small niggles, would be good to have better bright lighting in the games room, and sone better lighting outside around the hot tub for safety. Everybody loved staying at High House
A beautifully finished and decorated property with lots of fab amenities for groups. Our children loved the football, pool and ping pong tables and we loved the hot tub. The location was good not far to the beach or to great village pubs we went to and highly recommend the Vernon Arms. We couldnt fault the place except for a lack of pint glasses! and wouldnt hesitate to book again.

The weekend was a family gathering to celebrate a Golden Wedding anniversary. With 9 adults and 6 children we wanted to find somewhere special to accommodate everyone from 6 to 70 . We certainly felt we found that with High House . Beautifully clean and tastefully decorated everyone loved it there and felt at home .

A fabulous house for our 3 generations 80th birthday family celebration. Two points we feel could be an improvement a light over the cooker and some low level lighting by the BBQ as with the evenings closing in it was rather dark when we held our celebratory meal at 7.00pm. We had a fantastic time and found the house perfect for us. Would certainly return and our children intend visiting with their friends. Thank you very much.
What a stunning property, it really felt like our 'home' not just a rental property for the week. Standard of everything from bedding to blinds etc all such good quality. Cleanliness for such a large property was impressive too. Large dining table is such a treat to all be able to eat together and the kitchen is superbly equipped for cooking! Outdoor areas all that you could need and more and the gardens are very well enclosed for dogs. Bathrooms very luxurious.Will definitely be back! Our family group had such a special week together. Handy the supply of toddler bowls etc too. Everything has been thought of. The best property by far we have stayed in over many years....

Booked the house for a large family thank you for my childrengrandchildren and inlaws for supporting me through the loss of my parents and myself going through cancer treatment. The house was amazing, nice location away from the busy town. Very well equipped for family meals including plastic bowlscups for the youngest grandchildren. Even well equipped for our lovely dogs to enjoy the holiday. Nice size garden for games. Plenty of outside seating. Lovely BBQ area with welcoming hottub. Lovely games room where we spent alot of time, 2 lovely snugs both with televisions so an adult could have time away from the kids for 5 minutes peace

An amazing home. Furnished beautifully so it felt like a home. The kitchen is so well equipped, I have never stayed in a holiday home with so much equipment. The two fridges was a real bonus to keep drinks cold. The beds were extremely comfortable too. Being able to have a real fire one evening was very special. Great place for our family gathering.

Excellent house for a large family group. We stayed for our 50th anniversary family celebration with three grown up children and their partners and seven grandchildren. The hot tub was a great addition and enjoyed by all. The teenage children made great use of the games room. The house was spotlessly clean and everything was as we hoped.

We loved our stay at High House, perfect for my Husbands 70th birthday party. All of our guests loved the property and setting, the games room was very popular, as was the fire pit on one evening. Having the snug room for our younger members to use and the lounge for adults was an advantage . The very large dining table was excellent for family meals. Loved having real pot plants around the house, made it feel very special. An extractor above the cooker would be an advantage as unfortunately the main oven had not been cleaned and smoked when it was turned on setting off the fire alarms. I did clean the oven but it still filled with smoke when I tried to use it again. This was our only issue.

Stunning house in a beautiful location. Really conveniently located for the beach and town. House was very tidy and well maintained, including the gardens. Views are spectacular and there are no neighbours to be concerned of noise. My only complaint is that the hot tub was a real selling point for us but wasn't warm enough to get in until our second night. It took a over a day of us being there to heat up. I contacted the host to see if I could speed this up but to this day did not receive a reply. Despite this I would absolutely stay again. Builders were there but barely visible and we didn't hear a peep.
The family bathroom lock was not working, causing a few guests to be locked in. The dishwasher was difficult to work without no clear manual provided. However, it is a beautiful place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Excellent house with great amenities, most well equipped house we have stayed in. Plenty of bathrooms toilets. Great to have a dining room where 12 of us can sit around a table comfortably. If the weather had been better we would have made use of the outdoor space & seating. Hot tub was lovely but towards the end of the week it went green, telephone advice was given but I feel it should have been maintained throughout our stay. Everywhere else we have stayed the hot tub is checked daily. A lovely house for a family gathering only downside you have to drive from the house to go anywhere, no footpaths.

High house is a perfect house for a large family or group of friends. The weather in Norfolk isn't always the best but the house caters for the odd day at home. The games room is amazing. There were builders on site who shared the drive, they were very polite and considerate and didn't cause any problems whatsoever . We had a leaky shower , the owner organised a plumber to come the same day, all fixed while we were out. Overall a great house. Oh and room for 5 cars to park.
Several months after booking this property we were advised that there was building work in the woods behind the house. Sykes assured us that this would not impact negatively on our stay. In actual fact the building is being constructed adjoining the house which did impact our enjoyment of the location quite considerably. Builders started work with their hammernail guns at 7.20 am. Vans were constantly in and out throughout the day. Voices could be heard from within High House. Builders were directly outside some of bathroom and bedroom windows. Parking for guests is limited to three cars. Some bedrooms only have a roof light which is not as advertised. The cooker was very dirty and the overhead lights for the cooker which is located in a dark recess were not working. I was told just before our holiday was due to commence that there was CCTV camera in the drive. This camera is in fact positioned in a tree directly pointing at the hot tub which I feel is quite an invasion of privacy. While the house is very nice I would not recommend anyone to book a holiday while this building work is ongoing. I have been unable to get any response from Sykes on these issues despite contacting them three times so I would not recommend Sykes either.
We rented the house for my 50th birthday celebrations 12 of us! Just incredible! Exactly what we wantedneeded and more! Immaculate house, stunning interior, lots of space, incredible amount of kitchen equipment, clean and tidy and the perfect setting for a long weekend. All towels and bedding provided. Great location, no neighbours and close to the coast! Would highly recommend and hope to return one day.

This holiday cottage has been our best stay yet, as a group we have been going away in the half term week for 8 years. The location was amazing not far from cromer beach and other places for the kids. Facilities and Space where excellent. Lots of space in all rooms. Huge garden area. The games room and hot tub was an added bonus. Along with the outdoor chairs and large fire pit which was ace for bonfire night and marshmellows. We booked High House to celebrate my best friends hen weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! So comfortable and so clean, and it came with everything you needed to cook for yourself. We loved the dishwasher, as it made it super easy to clean up after ourselves without too much hassle. The hot tub was a big hit with the girls, it was much needed on one of the hottest weekends of the year! The interior decor is beautiful and the frontback outside areas are gorgeous. The house is also only a 10 minute drive away from Cromer beach! I honestly couldnt recommend it enough! Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Negatives Virtually insecure door in the sunroom that leads to the jacuzzi, locks at top and bottom are coming away from the wood. Dart board disintegrating, with only two complete darts. Lots of holes, not only on the wall around the dart board, but also on the adjacent door. Bare cloth on the pool table. Toilet roll holder in top floor ensuite bathroom, fell off the wall. Foul sewage smell from the first floor main bedrooms ensuite had to keep the windows open at all times and the door to the bedroom shut. The bedding was clean and maybe a hoover was ran round the house by the cleaners prior to arrival, but the wooden and tiled floors were filthy. One person wore white socks around the house on the first day, which were black by the evening. We also needed to wipe down the dining room table and all the placemats before use.
